Rulmeca celebrates 50 years

In 2012 Rulmeca, leading manufacturer of rollers for belt conveyors, is celebrating 50 years of activity.

Since the year of foundation in 1962 in Almè, Bergamo, the Company has been changing and developing in combination with the market and the products offer, thus becoming a relevant Italian reality and also the Headquarter of the 22 Rulmeca companies in the world, specializing in the production and sales of rollers, motorized pulleys and components for belt conveyors in bulk handling applications.

A brand full of history and innovation

Behind the high quality of Rulmeca products there is a brand full of history, innovation, international evolution and research.
Rulmeca is a Company producing rollers since 1962 in Almè, Bergamo area – Italy, thanks to the will and to the entrepreneurial spirit of the founder Mr. Antonio Ghisalberti.

During the first years of activity the Company production was focused on the development and manufacture of rollers for medium and heavy duty belt conveyors for quarries and mining applications.

The experience and know-how acquired in many years allowed the Company to grow constantly and to widen the product range.

History milestones

At the beginning of the 70s Rulmeca added to the original production all the components for the industries conveyors, for the assembly lines and the unit handling, thanks to the cooperation with Interroll. Later there was also the integration of the motorized pulleys and all the equipment for flow storage.

In the 80’s Rulmeca started to explore the international market with the first acquisition of competing foreign companies. Recently Rulmeca kept on with a global ascent giving force and importance to the brand. Today the Rulmeca Group is composed by 22 manufacturing and/or sales companies with 1.100 employees and a turnover of 150 million euro, now managed by the Headquarter Rulmeca Holding S.p.A.

The acquirement of the most important quality certifications, both referred to the company and to the production processes, witnesses the care that Rulmeca has in every activity aspect. Rulmeca has an important customer portfolio with wide applications experiences thanks to a collaboration focus not only as a supplier but as a partner, an over and over renewed and unique production technology, a special sensitivity for the development of new environment friendly products (the last examples are the eco-friendly thermoplastic roller TOP and the new Interroll “save-energy” EC310 RollerDrives).

Last but not least Rulmeca has always been very sensitive to the local area and community, offering donations and sponsorship especially in the field of art restorations and for the support to sports activities dedicated to children and disabled.
